ASOF 2026: AI, Armenia, and the Diaspora Take Center Stage
I recently joined a lineup of researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders at the 2026 conference of the Armenian Society of Fellows (ASOF), taking part in a session on the “Impact of AI on Society” alongside MIT economist and Nobel laureate Daron Acemoglu, Nvidia’s Rev Lebaredian, and colleagues working across academia, environmental science, and industry. ASOF has since published video recaps and key takeaways from each session, so I wanted to share a summary here along with a link to my own segment.

Impact of AI on Society
This session looked at how AI is reshaping trust, work, and opportunity at a societal level. In my segment, I talked about what I call the personal operating layer and the hidden power dynamics that come with letting AI systems act on our behalf. Watch my segment here.
Fellow panelists included Daron Acemoglu on pro-worker AI and priorities for the developing world, Rev Lebaredian on AI and Armenia’s opportunity, Maria Baghramian on the FORSEE project framework, Dork Sahagian on environmental risk and AI’s double-edged nature, and Mary Papazian on talent as Armenia’s strategic bet in education.
